The Harrold Calvados Society was set up to revive the art of cider making in the area of Harrold, North Bedfordshire, in England. Some of the cider has even been drinkable!
An important factor for us is that we don't do this for profit, we do this for fun, and over the years our donations to charity have become a bigger and bigger focus for us. Our year is usually a full one, both socially and production wise, with a number of now regular events taking place.
Each year we travel to Devon for a weekend of hard work, picking and pressing apples, before dragging the results back home again. We also have a large number of generous local tree owners who donate apples for us to pick and press. This gives us two sources of juice to allow our in-house experts to experiment with different blends and combinations.
Please browse the site and feel free to contact us if you have even a passing interest in anything apple-like or alcoholic.
Totus in bonus vicis
Our cider and apple juice are always available to buy at our events, why not give them a try and let us know what you think.
Where we can, we also like to set up the apple shredder and press apples on site, this allows us to provide the freshest apple juice possible.

The Harrold Calvados Society is dedicated to the art of having fun. Meeting formally once a month on a rotating pub circuit enables the best plans to be hatched and honed to perfection.
Our Gear and Facilities are vital to the society.
