The PitRun Extravaganza!
Charity fund raising professionals the ‘Harrold Calvados Society’ successfully completed their most challenging fund raiser to date for the Harrold Pit Run on Saturday 27th April 2013.
Not only did they ride a 6-man bike, but they did it over some of Bedfordshire’s most challenging and demanding roads.
The fund raiser was a great success, all thanks to the generosity of all those who sponsered the team both before and during the event. A big thank you to all of you!
The Harrold Calvados Society was set up to revive the art of cider making in the area of Harrold, North Bedfordshire, in England. Some of the cider has even been drinkable!
An important factor for us is that we don't do this for profit, we do this for fun, and over the years our donations to charity have become a bigger and bigger focus for us. Our year is usually a full one, both socially and production wise, with a number of now regular events taking place.
Each year we travel to Devon for a weekend of hard work, picking and pressing apples, before dragging the results back home again. We also have a large number of generous local tree owners who donate apples for us to pick and press. This gives us two sources of juice to allow our in-house experts to experiment with different blends and combinations.
Please browse the site and feel free to contact us if you have even a passing interest in anything apple-like or alcoholic.
